LEADING AMERICANA MUSIC ARTISTS DONATE TALENTS TO "FORGOTTEN BUT NOT GONE," NEW ALBUM BENEFITING GULF COAST RESIDENTS STILL DISPLACED BY HURRICANE KATRINA
All Proceeds Earmarked for Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana in New Orleans and LESM on the Bay, a project of Lutheran-Episcopal Services of Mississippi
Connie Uddo, Director of the St. Paul’s Homecoming Center, recently found herself in the music business, when several months ago she received word some top artists from the worlds of country, folk, blues, gospel and Cajun music have put their talents where their hearts are in "Forgotten but Not Gone" (www.forgotten-but-not-gone,org), a new album created to help restore the homes, communities, and dignity of tens of thousands of Gulf Coast residents still displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Although you won’t find Connie singing on the CD, you will hear her singing its praises. Produced, distributed, and promoted entirely by volunteers, the album attests to both the generosity of the human spirit and the power of grassroots activism. "This is a totally pro-bono project accomplished without major label involvement or other financial backing. It's a labor of love from the hearts of many, many people and a testament to the good in human nature. Every penny of sales will go to the two organizations we've selected as our partners," says executive producer and album coordinator Rebecca Wolfe.
A hundred percent of the proceeds are dedicated to the Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana, a partner of the St. Paul’s Homecoming Center, and LESM on the Bay, a project of Lutheran-Episcopal Services of Mississippi. "Forgotten but Not Gone" can be purchased through the album's Web site (http://www.forgotten-but-not-gone.org) or by contacting Lisa Davis at (504) 488.1319 or ldavis@stpauls-lakeview.org. All proceeds will be equally divided between Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana in New Orleans and LESM on the Bay in Mississippi.
